Do you think Ye did any homework before entering Skechers? If he had wouldn't he have thought twice about entering the Greenberg's Domain and expecting a different result? Or did he GET the result that he sought in the first place, and on tape?

Charlie. You're killing me. I see no good results on anything down to Lindsey testifying up to Trump winning 2024 with the 'independent legislature' like WI just giving him the electors. Nothing good. Only 2 things are good.

1. Citizen ballot initiatives (which will no doubt soon be outlawed by most gerrymandered legislatures)

2. Young people. Who are decent and kind. They aren't very hardworking, but they are really sweet kids who are kind and honest and thoughtful. Maybe they will take this in a different direction in 10 years.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had an article yesterday about the the Uihlein family. The late father was an American First enthusiast in the 1930s and later very active in the John Birch Society. The family reveres him and has not budged politically. They, like the Bradley Foundation, have done enormous harm to our state. Current events help me understand these people will always be with us. There were plenty of fascist and Nazi sympathizers in the USA in the 1930s. People don’t change.

Richard Uihlein is a very busy guy. Not only is he funding school board recalls, conspiracy theorists and big lie proponents, he is also involved in the anti union movement.

Uihlein is currently bank rolling an effort in Illinois to reject a constitutional amendment giving workers the right to unionize and bargain for wages, hours and work conditions.

Uihlein is very unhappy with the State of Illinois and has been for a long time. As a Chicago resident, I would love to see the Uihlein family decamp from their Lake Forest mansion and move across the border to Wisconsin, where their factory is located. I suppose that would be too déclassé for them.

For a long time, I was the account manager for the business that the company I work for does as a supplier of some of the office products in Uline's catalog. While I've had conflicts with contacts at other businesses over things like pricing and inventory, Uline is the only company that I can best describe as having encountered systematic rudeness in my dealings with them. The haughty and authoritarian attitudes of Dick and Liz Uihlein clearly have an impact on the corporate culture over there. Maybe they treat there customers with great service, but it's pretty much the opposite for their vendors - who often have to deal with responses that are hostile and threatening the moment that they aren't getting what they want.

Yes, Sen Sheldon Whitehouse has the numbers on Dark Money in this year's Senatorial elections, now at $1B for the R's. Republicans can't compete without it. A bulwark example best illustrates this: remember when Mandala Barnes won the D nomination in Wisconsin, was 10 points up in the polls, and Charlie warned of $20M of oppo ads being dumped on him, and he was right. Barnes is now 3-4 points behind RON JOHNSON, arguably the Senate's lowest IQ. We have to win in November, it may be our last chance. Gilead is here for 40%of the country.

As an Arkansas resident. pay attention to another (undercovered) ballot initiative - Initiative 2 - which seeks to practically end the practice of citizen ballot initiatives. While Initiative 4 (the marijuana initiative) gets the most coverage, Initiative 2 may be more illustrative of the trend of taking power out of the hands of citizens - who have tended to support measures that are anathema to the far-right that dominates state politics.

Even though they recalled the books, D'Sousa and Regency libeled the living hell out of five nonprofits---it only took one book getting out into public hands to make a defamation case. I hope all five borrow the strategy of the election machine maker and sue the defamers for billions.

The tort system seems to be the only protection we have from these bastids, so let's use it to max advantage.

The smart and sassy Katie Porter was on tv last night and she pointed out that over 50% of our current inflation is caused by corporations riding inflation to higher profits. Where, or where, are country-loving, civic-minded CEO's who are willing to face shareholder disappointment, and a possible share price decline, for the greater good? Nowhere in our world where Greed is Good.

We can blame Biden (?!), Saudi Arabia, Russia, etc, but might also look to our captains of industry. If one of these over-compensated captains was to say in the quarterly report that s/he put inflation busting ahead of profits I would buy whatever crap the company was selling ( provided it was within my limited means).( Also, when inflation-produced recession occurs, profits gonna sink like stones.)

Takeaway: It's hard -- very hard -- to win a fight when one side decides that there are no rules anymore. Just win, and own the opposition. All else is a means to those ends.

I'm talking about Russia here. Or the GOP. Or both. It's hard to see much of a philosophical difference anymore within their Mutual Admiration Society. What's left is to wonder if the GOP will resort to the same tactics of limitless violence and repression, if given the chance. Elephant in the room alert: what if the MAGA Republicans win back the White House and add control of the military to their ability to impose their will?

I'm interested in ballot petitions. It seems voters are -- in general -- more rational actors than legislators. The legislative districts are all gerrymandered and they only have to get 'the base' to vote for them so they end up displaying more and more extreme views.

Every day I am thankful that I married a Canadian, who resides and has a business in Canada (and a house that is paid for) and that when I retire (which will be soon) I can move there where it is a bit more sane (even though Alberta is one of the less sane and more MAGA-like parts of Canada).

The US is going to be a slow rolling disaster for the rest of my life until the GoP wins and then it becomes a fast rolling disaster. I don't see the current Democratic Party being able to get their crap together enough to stop them--and I am CERTAINLY not counting on the American voter to stop them.
