Lucas from SC is spot on. Why aren't there any political entrepreneurs willing to give the "meet in the middle" platform a shot? Polarized primaries are obviously a deterrent but winning a primary is a low probability event for most candidates anyway.

Give that Pa. school board guy a really, really good cigar. And give each of the three women running with him the best bottle of what ever they might fancy. Hell, give 'em a case.

And if you happen to live in their district, you surely should give them your vote.

And of equal, no...of more importance, give those young folks some kind of good citizenship award. Haven't got one? Make one up. And give it to them.

They deserve it more than most adults I know. Myself included.

I realize that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I read JVL’s comment’s about the Gerrymandering changes in Illinois, and I just have a question: Given that Kinzinger voted with Trump/GOP the vast majority of his time in the House, and would continue to if the Democrats carved a district for him, really not seeing the loss to our country. Yes, he made the right decision to impeach TFG. But, how many times did he vote for him? How many policies that weaken America did he agree to? How many of Biden’s plans has he voted No on?

But, let’s carve him a safe district where, hopefully, he can beat the MAGA candidate that will keep coming at him for the next decade while voting against the interests of the voters of Illinois. (Yes, he might be voting for the people in his district, but look at West Virginia and Manchin).

If Mike Pence had an ounce of real patriotism and/or an ounce of self-respect, he would volunteer to testify publicly before the January 6 commission. But we've known since the day he signed on as Trump's running-mate that Pence's character is as low as Trump's. It is hard to imagine a more pathetic human being.
