When are people going to get that inflation is a numbers game enacted by private business to grab as much of the paycheck pie they can, especially while it's hot?

Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Ag, and now Big Real Estate and small Landlords, not to mention your not so friendly Healthcare Corporation, compete for who will get the Lion's share of your paycheck every time workers get a meager boon.

I get what Bernie Sanders is saying, but he's off target here. The real fault lies with everyone in a 401K scheme that keeps feeding this HOG. Not a Bear, not a Bull , a BIG FAT HOG called Wall Street, and this will go on until the next BUST cycle...which is coming soon, because that's The American Way, And all the "Wah Wah Wahing from these people, who are ALWAYS the losers at the Casino, won't mean a thing at the polls for these Republicans because they will always blame a Democrat for their poor choices.

The people in those states deserve what they get. Not a one compares to my Gov. Newsom, and he runs THE RICHEST State in the Union, but, they just can't seem to grasp the technique of good governance over bad.

As to the MAGA candidates running for office, the people in those states deserve what they get. Not a one compares to my Gov. Newsom, and he runs THE RICHEST State in the Union, but, they just can't seem to grasp the technique of good governance over bad.

Kevin McCarthy has warned us that when Republicans take over the House Garland and the DoJ will be targeted for oversight...

[Sarcasm alert]

I certainly hope that the Biden White House and DoJ will be as responsive and forthcoming as the previous administration were with Congressional subpoenas and oversight.

[End sarcasm alert]

I'm holding you to your word regarding the sweet genie, your first wish and turning TFG into an even bigger toad than he already is. Loving your book, btw.

Tim, luv ya, but I always thought he'd be in prison, in hospital or dead by 2024. And today, he's staring down the barrel of potentially multiple criminal indictments. Ron de Santis is probably celebrating tonight.

The FBI has raided Mar-a-Lago - Trump is crying, and so is Bannon. - True. Next up - Trump is running to beg Putin for more help - not true. YET!

Aloha! I await with great anxiety, the Republican Presidential Primaries! I suspect that bloodsport it shall be, should any of the current (and/or ‘future’) aspirants tally wins in important states against the Orange Bombastic Blob! Will we again be witness to the barrage of falsehoods claiming fraud before it all begins again. So many have concluded that Trump wins, without a more deep dive on a potential primary state by state analysis of Drumpf v Pence, Disantis, Cruz, et al.

Just came back to mention that I got a hold of Tim’s book over the weekend. It is engrossing and very much in Tim’s own voice, which makes it even better. If there is anybody on the fence about buying it (although this is the Bulwark so how can there be?) so far it is a thumbs up from me.

There is no law that a person convicted of a crime or imprisoned cannot run for president, or be elected president. In 1920, Eugene V. Debs ran for president while he was in incarcerated in a Federal Prison. He won over a million votes, 3.4%. The only thing that can disqualify Trump would be another impeachment and a second vote by Congress following up on that, saying he cannot run again.

Although neither Jaime Herrera Beutler nor Dan Newhouse represents my district in Washington State, and although I mostly vote for Team Blue, I'm proud of these two candidates and would happily vote for them if I could. From what I know, both Beutler and Newhouse have repped us well, and it'll be a horrific shame if either were to lose their seat.

I think Ron DeSantis has a moral duty to run now. Yes, he may lose to Trump. But even if he does, Republicans (and some independents) will remember when Trump loses or, if he wins, when the GOP will lose the House again the country will be paralyzed during a 2nd Trump Presidency. If DeSantis runs now, he might be President in 2024, 2028 or 2032. If he does not, he won't be President ever.

It's a banner day so far here in Sactown. Our soccer team (and general sportsball history) gets a write up in the NY Times and the esteemed Tim Miller is visiting. Welcome, and enjoy your visit.

I'm about halfway through reading the article in The Atlantic about Trump's immigration policy of intentionally inflicting emotional damage onto families, to disincentivize other families from seeking asylum. Whatever your views are on immigration, unless you are a sociopath, you will find this very difficult to read and swallow without crying. I've come to the conclusion that reincarnation is a real thing. Hermann Goering has been reconstituted. His name is Stephen Miller.

Am I the only person who thinks repeating "the election was stolen" ad nauseum is a great way to depress Republican voter turnout? I mean if the system is rigged against you, why participate in the system? Especially at mid-terms when fearless leader isn't on the ballot?
