I wish they could get a "Liberal" other than Will Salatan. He seems to feel a need to both sides things just to fit in with the rest of the Bulwarkers. On Friday's podcast he said that Bill Clinton did the same thing as Donald Trump. Of course that is demonstrably false. Clinton had an affair but he did not pay hush money right before an election. Salatan often takes this approach. I wonder if he is lying or just uninformed.
There might be at least one juror who will find Trump not-guilty, regardless of the case or evidence to support it. But, the jury in this situation will not be comprised of slightly less than 50% Republican Senators. That has to be an improvement from the impeachment trials.
All the blather about whether Alvin Bragg can prove his case, and how Trump is innocent until proven guilty, and how this is a great stressor for America, and whether it will divide us further, is beside the point. Trump is, and always has been, a sociopath and a monster who must be put down. He destroys everything he comes in contact with. Everyone with a brain knows this. We must ignore his worshipers and do what must be done.

You know what is the funniest thing about all of this: Trump, the "billionaire", the "rich, smart guy" is literally begging people to pay his legal (and other) bills. And his Pets are also begging people to send him money. Name ONE billionaire who is begging people to send him money. Good God, I never even asked my parents for an advance on my college allowance (a whole $75 a month decades ago which paid to rent a room with a nice elderly lady, my meals and bus money because my car had died months before) when I was literally down to my last dollar. But Trump, the billionaire, is ALWAYS begging for money. I wonder how many of his supporters would tolerate that from their kids, relatives and friends. Yeah, it's a cult.
Maybe AG Garland was correct in focusing his prosecutions on the small fish of the J6 insurrection. It may have a deterrent effect for the Trump base as Trump tries to incite his minions today. They know what the consequences are.

Brag is a Ruthless man. He is charging Trump with everything he has. Stormy is just the icing on the cake... The Cherry on top so to say. There’s a rising chorus of voices -- not just among the Trumpers -- who decry this indictment as political. Of course, it’s political. It became political the moment a common criminal decided the presidency was the best place to hide from the law. In fact, this may be the only real reason Trump ran for the office. On voting not to convict Trump in the second impeachment, Mitch McConnell said, “We have a criminal justice system in this country. We have civil litigation. And former Presidents are not immune from being held accountable by either one.” Yet, now it’s political? The obviously straight line for Republicans is if it’s political it’s unaccountable, or at least above accountability. Admitting Trump is culpable, allowing him to be held accountable is nothing less than owning the fact that they -- the entire party, not just the insurrectionists that came later -- were complicit in everything Trump did and has done. These crimes he’s been indicted for were crimes Trump committed BEFORE he became President. How fitting. The other indictments would cover actions after he became president, after the party got to “know” him. Come on. They knew he was a snake when they took him in.
