One Republican has been raking in the donations and siphoning dollars away from GOP candidates. It's just that this (former) guy isn't on a ballot this time around.
There are a few other possibilities as to why TFG has not spent anything in support of the GOP this election cycle:
He is so bloody cheap when it comes to spending his own money on anything that might not pay off his "investment." As the saying goes - he can pinch a penny until Washington cries. Of course he spends lavishly to uphold his image - which doesn't count since he probably plans to stiff his vendors and supporters as per his usual MO. Also, as usual, we saw when he was Acting POTUS, he has no problems throwing other people's money around - especially the bigly bucks that the federal gov't had available for his use, including trying to impress despots like Kim, Putin and Xi so he can join their club.
He is waiting until early October and then drops a bundle for ads and rallies on behalf of Republican candidates. Certainly not on all of the candidates but for those who he can use later on - then let's talk donations. This scenario is highly improbable because that would entail his thinking about anyone else but his lordship himself (except maybe Ivanka and those thoughts likely can't be discussed among polite society).
Third, and most likely IMO, he actually believes that his endorsement of a candidate is worth much more than a monetary contribution, that his coattails alone can take them over the finish line, whether or not he is directly on the ballot. As for the rest of the Republican candidates... well... what have they done for him today? It is sink or swim for them, and very likely sink due to the added weight (pun intended) he puts on them. One of the main problems he burdens them with is to just maintain enough of a separation that the Mango Menace's Deplorables don't notice it and at the same time to show enough of a distance between them and him that everyone else *will* notice it.
Why do they even bring up Hunter Biden? Is he getting a big salary for being a White House advisor like Trump's kids and son in law. Did Biden's son get patents from China after a conversation between his father and the Chinese premier two days after being office?
He had a stupid lap top with supposedly secret info even though his Father wasn't President. That was broken and left with a blind computer repairman in Jersey. Then apparently Hunte Biden forgot he had a broken lap top with secret info and just left it at the shop. The blind repairman by some miracle was able to read the secret documents and realized their value and gave them to the Republicans. Does anyone really believe that?
This may be off topic, but I'm trying to figure out the legal status of President Biden spending hundreds of billions of dollars on student loan forgiveness without any action by Congress. Isn't this Congress's responsibility? Could we get some expert commentary on this?
